Course Description
This course is abstracted from American Heart Association basic cardiac rhythms. Participants will learn a systematic approach to basic rhythm interpretation.

Course Goals and Objectives
- Improve recognition of basic cardiac rhythms
- Improve recognition of life threatening cardiac rhythms
- Decrease medical errors associated with the inability to recognize cardiac rhythm changes
Course Content:
- Basic life threatening rhythm review and baseline competency
- Systematic approach to rhythm identification
- Ventricular fibrillation
- Ventricular tachycardia
- Normal sinus rhythm
- Atrial fibrillation
- Atrial flutter
- First degree heart block
- Second degree heart block
- Second degree Mobitz type 2
- Pulseless electrical activity
- PR Interval
- QRS
- P wave identification
- AED use
